The formation of the Church. Jesus called Simon Peter and Andrew, two fisher brothers. He himself took the initiative to call them. They, in turn, immediately dropped their nets and followed Him. Two important things here: first the adverb NOW Time is pressing, you can not expect more, the time is now. In addition, it can mean the availability of the disciple, readiness to serve the Lord, being absolutely placed at the disposal of God's will, making use of his skills for the new fishing, the evangelizing mission. The second thing is the nets, tools necessary for subsistence. Even so, they were abandoned in view of a higher order project, the salvific project. To abandon the nets, means to abandon what interests oneself, to live the dream of God. The same is said of the sons of Zebedee, who left the boat (safety in the waters), nets (means of subsistence) and the father (family background and psychological comfort) and departed, as disciples of Jesus, trusting absolutely in his testimony, His teachings and His promises. Jesus, by his word and example, shows us that God, who is Father, loves us and wants us, has been free without knowing him and being the way of all people, does not want us we lose, we choose it instead of following the path deceived. We are free, but our heart chooses the true Lord.
