God sent his beloved son

God sent his beloved son
To face the grave without understanding anything is a disaster. Much more so if the "body has disappeared". Whoever has not yet understood the teachings of Jesus, while still with all, will "seek among men" He who no longer depends on physical, material laws. It means you have not believed it yet. Peter, like Magdalene, understood nothing. On the other hand, the beloved disciple saw the sign, understood what the Master had said before and believed. In (Mt 16, 21b, Mark 8, 31b and Luke 9:22), Jesus speaks of His Resurrection; also in John 10:18, when Jesus teaches about His condition as Good Shepherd, who freely gives His life and takes it up by His power. The beloved disciple remembers the teachings of Scripture, for his love for the Master brought him into the heart of the Word of God in order to understand all that was revealed in Jesus Christ and the very person of the Master of Nazareth. Whoever wants to be a disciple of Christ must necessarily come across the empty tomb in the midst of a world that absolutely demands the presence of the Savior, but not according to His condition of Servant, limited by time, space and natural laws, but in the condition of Lord , glorified, victorious, perceived only by the FAITH of those who see the tomb, understands the Word and experiences the presence of the Risen One and becomes the visibility of God by the gift of himself.
2. Mary Magdalene, representing those who still do not understand, who did not reach the gift of faith, leaves "well at dawn", is still "dark", sees the "tomb", but does not enter it, and despairs. In her still the search for the corpse, the dawn and the dark are signs of the absence of the light, of the life, of the novelty of the faith. There is no adhesion to Jesus LIVE. Although it was dawn, having Jesus already resurrected, she was not able to SEE this mystery. She was in DOMNGO, the first day of the week, which now indicates the day of the new creation, the new history, the victory over death, sin and Devil; day of the Resurrection, therefore, day of the Lord, the full day of the Sabbath; the day of the new humanity, of him who has found the Lord.
3. Peter and the beloved disciple also run to the tomb. Both as signs of the community that still did not believe in the victory over death, still thinking that the death of Jesus had limited His existence. At that time, the apostles were already separated, as Jesus had said (John 16:32), so it is easy to understand why Mary Magdalene encounters only the two. Well, the beloved disciple runs faster, for love understands faster, comes sooner, opens doors, anticipates and waits for the exact time. This disciple has no name; is there with Peter, was at the foot of the Cross, was given as a child to the Mother of Jesus by Jesus himself, is intimate with the Mother, the Son Jesus and the Community. The beloved disciple always stood beside Jesus, facing Him, with nothing to promise (a sign to Peter), but there, always faithful and loving; is humble, recognizes his place before Peter, who needs a true encounter with Christ in the empty tomb, only with folded cloths, well folded, signs that the tomb was not violated, because they would not have worried about cloths. The beloved disciple sees and believes, understands that Christ is not under the chains of death, as happened with Lazarus, who had to be untied. At that moment, the beloved disciple reached the truth of love that overcomes death. Only those who love live forever. Peter will understand that later.
4. Peter and Mary Magdalene symbolize those who have not yet been able to overcome doubt. They do not yet have that faith demanded by the Resurrection, by the New Condition of Jesus. All the disciples are invited to encounter the Risen One, to experience Him, to know Him in the Holy Scriptures and to experience Him in love. Thus the Beloved DISCIPLE is born, totally devoted to God in Jesus Christ, absolutely committed to His teachings, deeply inserted in Sacred Scripture and freely available to the proclamation of the Message of Salvation, having as the central pillar of his faith the Mystery of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus . He has no doubt that it is the visibility of the Risen One.
A strong and affectionate hug.
Fr. José Erinaldo
Merry Christmas!
